How this is written

Meridian Journal explains how to start and run a small business online. This page says how the articles are made, what they will never claim, and what happens when one of them is wrong.

What the articles are for

Each article answers one question for somebody who has not done the thing before. The test applied to every piece is whether a reader could act on it the same week. That is why most of them end with a short list of work to do, and why they go into the arithmetic rather than leaving it as a principle.

How they are researched and written

  • Each topic starts from an outline of the decisions a beginner actually faces, in the order they face them. The articles within a topic are written as a sequence, and each assumes the one before.
  • Drafting is done with the assistance of a large language model, directed, edited and checked by the publisher. The subject matter, the structure, the examples and the final wording are editorial decisions, not generated output accepted as it arrived.
  • Mechanics are described rather than menu paths, because advertising and search interfaces are renamed faster than any article can keep up with. Where a feature is named, the idea behind it is explained too.
  • Nothing is published to raise the page count. An article exists because there was something specific to say.

What these articles will not claim

Most of what makes business writing untrustworthy is invented detail, so the following are ruled out rather than used carefully.

  • No statistics, survey findings or research results are cited. Where a number would normally be quoted, the article explains the mechanism instead.
  • No case studies, client stories, testimonials or earnings figures. None would be real.
  • No claimed credentials, awards or years of experience.
  • Every figure in a worked example is labelled as illustrative, because it is there to show the arithmetic rather than to report a result.
  • No guarantees about outcomes. Where something commonly fails, the article says so.

Dates and the size of the archive

There are 135 articles. They carry the dates they were written and nothing is back-dated to suggest a longer history than there is. Topics with nothing written yet appear in the topic list showing a count of zero, rather than being hidden to make the site look fuller.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, the article gets fixed rather than quietly removed, and a correction worth knowing about is noted in the article itself. Interface details and prices go out of date faster than the reasoning does; where an article describes something that has since changed, that is a correction too.

Independence

  • No sponsored articles, paid placements or gifted products. No article has been commissioned or reviewed by anyone it mentions.
  • No affiliate links. Tools are named only where naming one is necessary to explain something, and never with a tracking link.
  • Any advertising on the site is bought through an advertising network, is labelled as advertising, and has no influence on what is written. Nobody who advertises here gets to see an article before it is published.

What you get for free

All of it. There is no account, no email wall, no paid tier and nothing that unlocks later. If that ever changes, the articles that are already published will stay open.
