Privacy policy
This policy describes what happens to your data when you read Meridian Journal. It is written to match what the site actually does, and it is updated when that changes rather than kept deliberately vague.
Last updated 25 October 2026.
Who publishes this site
Meridian Journal is an independent publication. It has no parent company, no investors and no commercial relationship with any business written about in its articles.
What the site collects from you
Nothing that you type, because there is nothing to type into. There are no accounts, no registration, no newsletter, no comment section and no contact form. The search box on the articles page filters a list that is already in your browser; what you type into it is never sent anywhere.
Cookies and browser storage
The site itself sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The advertising described below does set cookies, and only after you have agreed to it where your consent is required.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, it records requests to the server. Those records can include your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser and operating system your request reports. They exist so the site can be served and so abuse and faults can be investigated. They are not used to build a profile of you, they are not combined with anything else, and they are not sold.
Fonts, images and other assets
Everything a page loads comes from this domain. The typefaces are downloaded when the site is built and served from here, so reading a page does not make a request to Google Fonts or to any other third-party server. There are no embedded videos, maps, social widgets or tracking pixels anywhere on the site.
Analytics
There are none. No analytics product of any kind is installed, so there is no record of which pages you visited or how long you stayed.
Advertising
This site shows advertising supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or read identifiers already in your browser in order to select and measure the adverts you see, and in some cases to personalise them. Advertisements are labelled on the page so you can tell them from the articles.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your choices before any personalised advertising is used, through a consent message provided by a consent management platform certified by Google. You can change those choices at any time:
Google explains its own use of advertising data in its advertising privacy notice, and you can review the settings on your own Google account at My Ad Center.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, data protection law gives you the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to complain to your national data protection authority. Given that this site holds no personal data beyond its host's server logs, there is usually very little to give you, but the request will be answered honestly either way.
Children
The site is written for adults running or starting a business. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone knowingly.
Changes
When the site starts doing something new with data, this page changes first and the date at the top changes with it.
Getting in touch
A published contact route for privacy requests is being set up and will appear here and in the footer once it is working. Until then this page describes the site's actual data handling, which is the part that matters most.
What this policy is not
It is a plain description of how this site works, not legal advice, and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
